It's back to school day today for our learners! We wish all of them a successful new year at iThemba :-)
We are really happy that Mr. Siegfried Riedel from the ITSM Group will be the godfather for one of our learners, Keenan from Muizenberg. Thanks to Siegfried who will take over the school fees, Keenan can go to iThemba and learn with our other kids. Thanks a lot!
We wish everybody a happy New Year! May all your expectations and goals come true in 2017 :-)
We wish everybody a peaceful and happy festive season! And don't forget: Never underestimate the power of a smile. It could be the brightness of someone’s day!
Words from Veronica Nicholas, school principle of iThemba: "A huge thank you to our staff members for making 2016 memorable and fun for our children; for all the hard work and dedication at school. Many thanks to our children and their parents who gave us a reason for being here. Last but not least thank you to our amazing funders, iThemba board members, visitors and everyone else who contributed in any way towards our children’s wellbeing, we truly appreciate your love and generosity. We trust that everyone will have a blessed and safe festive season, and we look forward to a wonderful 2017. School will reopen on 11 January 2017."
Included in what our learners do at school is assisting with clean-up both inside and outside of school. Last week, a few of the Grade R leaners helped cleaning the grounds for the last time before embarking on the next leg of their school journey. We wish them well at their new schools.
Getting ready for the next year at iThemba! We had an orientation morning for all our new learners and their parents last week so they would know where to come when they start in 2017.
The younger children are seen playing with toys while Thandi had a word with their parents.
Happy Monday from iThemba! Our children received another gift last Monday and boerewors rolls for lunch.
The gifts were made up of clothes, toys and other goodies that were donated to school during the year, and by Dawood’s butchery. Thanks a lot!
Lots of excitement for our children last week! They had their Christmas party with Father Christmas handing out their gifts, lots to eat, plenty of visitors from Cape Town, Johannesburg and abroad.
It was great to see Michaela and Andreas at school again last week. Susanne brought Siegfried Riedel and Frank Zielke from Germany to visit the schoo, and they brought two of their friends Sheetal Makhan and James Russell along.
Festive season is a special season! A lot has been happening at iThemba lately....let's start with our annual concert in the Capricorn School Hall! We had a wonderful response from the families and friends of our learners.
We thank the iThemba board members Ian, Michaela, Susanne, their spouses and visitors from Germany for sharing this special occasion with us.
Our kids made us so proud with their performances on stage, and everyone had so much fun and plenty of laughs
Some more Christmas preparations at iThemba: Koyisa and Aluncedo painted Christmas trees with decorations and the Grade R learners also drew some really nice pictures. Well done everybody
Christmas time is creative time at iThemba! Zacheriah is seen creating an angel by drawing the body and using his hand prints as the wings...pretty creative, don't you think
Happy Monday from iThemba! A team of trainees spent the past weeks assessing our 4-5 year old learners under the guidance of Linda Biersteker and Elizabeth Girdwood from the Early Learning Outcomes Measure. This is a group with Linda on the far left corner. We are so proud of our learners who performed with confidence.
Attention please, ongoing rehearsal for THE concert of the year: Our children had their last rehearsal at the school hall for the concert yesterday. We are very excited to see them perform tomorrow at 9:00 am at the Capricorn School hall! A little sneak preview with pics you can see here
