School is about learning, having fun and sharing with your peers both indoors and outdoors...we wish everybody a great weekend
Great news for iThemba: Thanks to The Learning Initiative and Care Up for offering to work closely with our 4-5 year old group! They started with assessments on each child to see who needs further assistance. Thereafter the occupational therapist works with the children for the rest of the year to boost their learning. They also offer parents support and give them tips to assist their children at school. Seen here are Talia and Sophie guiding Iminathi through an assessment.
Time to reveal what Kevin and his team have built last week: a trampoline :-) Thanks to Kevin who spent some time last week getting the trampoline ready for the children before they arrived at school! Lena is seen helping him. As you can imagine, the trampoline is a big joy for our learners...and our teachers too occasionally ;-)
Friday is here, time to relax! Our garden is a great place for relaxing and listening to stories under the shade of the trees. Happy weekend from iThemba :-)
Look at this little construction site! What have Kevin and his team been up to? They were digging and cementing to build a.... can you take a guess? We will reveal the secret next week :-) Thanks to Kevin and his team in the meantime!
Be it moving around or listening... our learners and teachers are always 100% on it! Thandi is seen here doing movement with her children in the garden:
Sue-ellen is seen here telling a story in class. Have a great start into this week everyone
Our busy teachers at work: Emily is seen assisting the children to tidy up outside in the garden!
We had our first parents teachers meeting last Wednesday - It was very well attended!
Workshop time! Africa A+ Schools invited us and four other schools to attend a Summer Conference at the Methodist church hall last weekend :-) We met up with the other schools and had loads of fun and shared information to utilise at school. Thanks so much to Anya and her team of AA+ fellows for facilitating!
Let's swing gently into this Monday morning! Good morning from iThemba!
